I was in Granada for a few days and wanted to experience the amazing outdoor activities in the Sierra Nevada mountains, ideally on an eBike.  Toni and the crew at CaptainWays made it happen in the best way possible.  I contacted them directly via their website and scheduled a ½ day guided tour at a very reasonable rate the following day.  I’d never been on an e-bike or done much single-track, so I was looking for the right balance of excitement and safety, and Toni hit the mark perfectly.

At the shop I was set up with a nearly new, full suspension Cannondale, helmet, and water bottle. We drove the bikes to the Sierra Nevada National Park near the treeline at ~1,600 m, and rode from there,  ascending a combination of paved roads and a few trails up to 3,100 m near the peak, then returned ( quickly!). We stopped along the way for drinks and pics and to take in the amazing views.

Toni’s experience as a guide was evident throughout.  He selected the perfect route to meet my goals, and kept checking in on my pace and comfort through the entire ride.  His passion for both  the region and the sport was evident based on our discussions.  He clearly has a lot to share with folks who have the time to explore.

This was an excellent experience. For ease and efficiency,  I recommend  booking directly with the local bike shop when you can.  And when you are in Granada or want to tour in the region, I’d definitely recommend booking through CaptainWays.

We hired a Moto for six weeks which was a little unusual but Toni offered us a good deal for the time we borrowed it. It not only allowed us to travel into town a lot easier but also visit tons of places in Andalucía. We were fortunate to visit and hike around Gorafe, Sierra Nevada, Rio Verde, Guadix and more due to the ease of the Moto. Toni and his crew are super easy going and really lovely to deal with. Would highly recommend!
